Paddling the Yaks on Silver River near Ocala, FL September 19, 2014

Paddling the Silver River is always a treat. With the wet weather coming in we decided to make a Go of it anyway and got to have the river to ourselves!! The Limpkins, Anhingas, Little Blue, Great Blue and Green Herons weren't worried about a little drizzle either. The White Ibis, Great Egrets, Kingfisher, Osprey, Cormorant and Pileated Woodpeckers were all out playing too. We got to see Turtles, Gators and even a River Otter showed off for us. The red Cardinal Flower, purple Pickerel Weed, yellow blooms of the Spadderdock are all signs of Summer but the Red Maple Trees and Bald Cypress are showing signs of Fall. It's ever changing on the river and the seasons are more evident here than anywhere else. It takes a real Trooper to know it's going to rain sooner or later and make a Go for it anyway but the rewards are always a nice surprise ;-).
