Paddling the Rivers of Florida Sept. 15, 2013

Barbara and Dennis both were looking for a good river for starters and the Wekiva River is a good river for everybody. As we headed upstream the Scarlet Hibiscus caught our eye and then across the river is the blooming wall of Pink Mallow. The yellow blooms of the Primrose add more color to the sights and sounds of the Wekiva. The Turtles were out sunning and the Osprey, Anhingas, Great Blue Herons, Turkeys and Little Blue Herons in the white and blue phases were enjoying their river too. We're glad they are willing to share it with us ;-).

Kenny was a great instructor and guide. I have never kayaked before, but was soon paddling with confidence. I also learned a great deal about the local environment and its inhabitants (large and small). Jenny is very pleasant to deal with. I am also looking forward to my next tour. Thanks to both of you.
