Kayaking with the Family, it's an awesome thing to do! February 18, 2014

The 80 degree weather made for some great wildlife viewing. Today we had 2 families with us and it's always a blast when we get to paddle with family. It was one of those "clear blue skies, very little wind days." We got to see several Turtles and Gators out sunning along with the birds out feeding. There were Anhingas, Cormorants, Great Blue, Little Blue, Green and Tri-colored Herons, even a Black Crowned Night Heron. The Great and Snowy Egrets, Moorhens and Wood Storks too. Then we got to see the Turkeys rooting around in the mud ;-). The Manatees were good to us as well, as they came out and said Hello. The Spring greens of the new shoots on the trees with the red of the Maples coming out, creates a beautiful reflection of color on the river. No snow in sight... just nice Spring time colors and warm radiant Sun!

Thanks! We had a great time and it was so nice seeing that side of Florida. A perfect day for it, too!
