From the Villages to Silver River; monkeying around with the kayaks November 12, 2014

The Silver River is always a treat and today's trip was no different. Bob and I took off to see what we could find and right off the bat we were smiling! 60 White Ibis came flying in just over our heads so close you could hear their wing beats. Just around the next bend they were taking a break in the trees above us. A lone Wood Stork came flying in and landed in their midst and later we spotted a few Limpkins, Tri-colored Herons and some Barred Owls. We got a good shot of the Brown Water Snake that was out sunning and there were Red-bellied and River Cooter Turtles abound. We got to sit with a troop of Rhesus Macaque Monkeys and watched them play along the river bank. It was a beautiful, peaceful day of paddling, what more could you ask for ;-).
