Kayaking the Silver River April 21, 2013

Lauren, Saeed, Tim, Jesus, Miriam and Kenny went on a kayaking excursion of the Silver River today. There was lots to see, the baby Wood Ducks are out and about now and the Prothonotary Warblers are here. The Water Moccasin was peaking out of the V in the tree and then the Wild Hogs showed up. The Turtles and a few Gators came out to say hello as did the Great Blue Herons, White Ibis (the Juvies are here too ;-), the Limpkin family, Great Egrets, Ospreys, Hawks, Moorhens, Black Crowned Night Herons, Yellow Crowned Night Herons and lots more. There was a slight coolness in the air, great paddlers to share it with and it all made for a good day on the water! These photos below are from Tim O'Leary's camera. Thanks for sending them Tim!!

It was a pleasure to spend time with Kenny, who was so knowledgeable about the local environment and wildlife. We felt we were in very safe hands, as we kayaked past alligators and cottonmouths! Kenny's calm, enthusiastic and easy-going approach made for a fantastic trip. If you're in the area, I'd definitely see if Kenny is free for a paddle - it's an experience you'll never forget.

Best wishes to you both,

Thank you both. The only way the day could have better is if it where 2 days! When I get my pictures off the BB I will send you the keepers. BTW tell Kenny as I write this msg there is a song on the country radio station with the line ".. what would Jimmy Buffet do..."

Thanks again!
